Authorized Persons
Manage the people allowed to access spaces on behalf of a renter.
Overview
The Authorized Persons tab lets you track who has permission to access a renter’s storage spaces. This is especially useful for business accounts where employees need access, or for individuals who want family members to be able to get to their unit.
To get here: Go to Renters → click a Renter-ID → click the Authorized Persons tab.
What is an authorized person?
An authorized person is someone allowed to:
- Access the renter’s storage space(s)
- Pick up or drop off items
- Interact with your staff on behalf of the account holder
They are not the same as renters — they can’t sign contracts, make payments, or change account settings. They only have physical access permission.

- The owner
- An operations manager
- A delivery driver
Individual accounts
A person storing personal items might authorize:
- Their spouse
- An adult child
Common questions
Is there a limit on authorized persons? No — add as many as needed.
Can authorized persons log into LeaseLlama? No. They only have physical access to spaces. They don’t have system accounts.
Can they sign contracts or make payments? No. Only the renter (account holder) can do that.
How do I verify someone is authorized? Check this tab before granting access. Some facilities also require matching a photo ID to the name on file.
Tips
- Keep the list current — remove people who no longer need access (former employees, etc.)
- Use the relationship field — helps staff understand who they’re letting in
- Add notes for restrictions — “Weekdays only” or “Call account holder before allowing access”
- Contact info is worth adding — makes it easier to reach authorized persons if there’s an issue at the facility
